MEASUREMENT BASED CARE

What is Measurement-Based Care (MBC)?

Measurement-based care (MBC) is the practice of using real time data through the use of assessments, in order to provide you with the most effective evidence based treatment for mental health and well-being.

MBC allows therapists to monitor your health and well-being. Similar to getting routine blood work and your doctor using that data to manage your healthcare, your therapist uses questionnaires to measure how you’re feeling and functioning. This shows how well treatment is working for you. By regularly checking these measurements, your therapist can make sure you’re getting the best care possible and can adjust treatment if needed – based on live data.

MBC offers several benefits for you:

1. Personalized Care: By regularly checking how you’re feeling through assessments, your therapist can tailor treatments specifically for you to make them more effective.

2. Faster Adjustments: If something isn’t working, MBC can help catch it early. This means your provider can make changes quicker so you can feel better sooner.

3. Clear Communication: MBC gives you and your therapist clear language to talk about your progress. Instead of just saying “I feel a bit better,” you can both see exactly how much better and in what areas.

4. Track Progress: Over time, these measurements can show you how far you’ve come, which can be a source of motivation and encouragement.

MBC helps ensure that your care is always aligned with your current needs and helps you and your therapist work together in the most informed way possible.
