Yoga

Yoga is a spiritual and physical practice that brings together the mind and body and increases self awareness. Through this practice, individuals gain the power of insight through looking inward for answers rather than looking to the external world. Yoga has long been used as a spiritual and physical practice to find rejuvenation and peace.

There are different forms of yoga, and here at True North Healing Center we guide the Hatha style of yoga, including Vinyassa, which connects mind, body, and breath. If you are new to yoga, we guide you through our beginner classes. We also offer intermediate classes for those who may find that suitable to their own physical yoga journey. For those who have more of an interest in the spiritual or meditative side of yoga, we offer a gentle flow where the focus is connecting with your mind, body, and breath in a delicate and nourishing way. All of our guides have been trained to lead classes with a trauma informed approach.

How can yoga be helpful to me? Over the past several years, researchers have taken an interest in how yoga impacts the mind and body. Some of the benefits include; increased self awareness, increased flexibility and balance, increased strength, support joint health, decreased anxiety, and improved cognitive functioning, to name a few. We offer group fitness classes that are designed to support individual goals and mobility needs, providing you with variations to accommodate injuries or increase difficulty, as needed. This allows you to take control of your fitness journey. Putting you in charge of how you push yourself, it allows you to become more attuned with yourself.
