Supportive therapy for ptsd and trauma

Support for those impacted by trauma, PTSD, and lingering stress responses.

Unresolved trauma has a way of slipping into your day-to-day life. Your body reacts before your mind can catch up. A sudden jolt of tension, shift in mood, or sense of disconnect makes it hard to engage. You might be outwardly functioning, but inside it feels as if you are carrying too much.

When PTSD and Trauma Take Over

PTSD and trauma can show up without warning. You might feel on edge, disconnected, emotionally flooded, or pulled back into memories or body responses you did not choose.

These patterns can be exhausting and confusing. True North Healing Center offers trauma therapy to focus on understanding and processing these responses rather than pushing them away, only to later resurface. We are New England’s largest and most progressive trauma treatment facility, helping you move forward with calm and stability.

Begin to Feel Steady

With the right support, the intensity of PTSD symptoms can begin to soften. Your nervous system may feel less reactive, and moments that once felt overwhelming can become more manageable.

Specialized Trauma Care

Our care for your trauma focuses on how PTSD and trauma affect your nervous system, emotions, and sense of safety in the present. At True North, trauma therapy is paced carefully, helping reduce overwhelm while supporting steady and meaningful processing.

EMDR Therapy
EYEWHITE

EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapy helps the brain process experiences that continue to drive PTSD and trauma responses.

We offer EMDR in both standard and intensive formats. Intensives provide longer, focused sessions, while standard sessions allow for steady, paced work over time. In both formats, therapists prioritize safety, consent, and grounding throughout the process.

Walk and talk therapy offers trauma support in an outdoor setting. Movement and being side by side can help some people feel more grounded and present while talking, especially if sitting indoors feels limiting. Sessions move at a comfortable pace and are guided with the same care and attention as in-office work.

Veterans and first responders often carry the effects of prolonged stress and repeated exposure. Trauma therapy at True North is grounded in an understanding of these demands.

We make every effort to offer same-day or next-day appointments when availability allows.
