Education & Training:

  • In progress: MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

  • Expressive Arts Therapy

Hello! I’m Megan, Clinical Intern.

I am an intern completing my final year of my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lesley University.

I’m interested in working with people from all ages and backgrounds, and it is important to me to provide affirming care. In my previous work, I have especially enjoyed working with adolescents and young adults, and supporting anyone navigating transitional life stages and relationship dynamics. I seek to be an encouraging presence through the processes of self-discovery, embracing your strengths, and cultivating meaning with your values.

My Approach

I am passionate about the integration of the creative arts into therapy. Working with an expressive arts therapy approach means we may invite transitions between different art forms such as (but not limited to!) movement, sound, visual images, and writing. No previous experience in the arts is required, and I’m mindful of the vast differences in experiences we all might have in regard to the arts. So, my aim is to be attentive to what interests or inspires you. This includes a welcoming environment for any conversation, and a place to just be as you are. To be alongside you and witness your own path is an honor, and I strive to center values of humility and compassion in our work together. I see the therapeutic process as collaborative and relational, inviting feedback and your whole self into the space.

My path here

I grew up feeling drawn to visual arts and psychology. I’ve often used artmaking for my own personal exploration, understanding, and expression. I’m fascinated with the arts’ ability to express what may feel inaccessible in language, and release what might feel ‘stuck’ within. I’ve found that by being freed from the need to ‘make sense,’ art can open up new depths of authenticity. It creates a place for conflicting feelings and experiences to breathe and coexist. Communication can come in many forms, and I’ve found a safe, open, creative, and even playful atmosphere to be fertile ground for nurturing connection, curiosity, insight, delight, and a deep appreciation for my own and others’ humanness.

Outside of the Office

I also love to go for walks, read (especially fantasy!), and play tabletop or video games!
