OUR TEAM
Hello! I’m James W., LCMHC-C
I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, relationship challenges, substance use recovery, burnout, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in helping individuals who feel stuck—whether emotionally, personally, or professionally—gain clarity and move toward meaningful change.
My Approach to Therapy
I believes that therapy is most effective when clients feel genuinely understood and actively involved in the process. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while integrating Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care. I work with clients to better understand the patterns contributing to distress, strengthen healthy coping skills, improve relationships, and build resilience.
What Drew Me to This Work
Before becoming a counselor, I spent more than a decade in technology leadership before making a successful midlife transition into the mental health profession. That experience provides valuable perspective for adolescents exploring their future, adults navigating career changes, professionals experiencing burnout, and individuals rebuilding after difficult life experiences.
With my approachable and practical style, I strive to create a supportive environment where clients feel respected, challenged, and empowered to make meaningful, lasting changes.
