Hello! I’m Aaron, CMHC
I work with a diverse clientele spanning adolescence to late adulthood. I have worked extensively with clients experiencing PTSD, OCD, BPD, anxiety, and depression. I enjoy working with clients who have a clear goal for therapy or who want to develop one that meets their needs.
How I Work
I am trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Relapse Prevention (ERP), Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tic Disorders (CBIT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I tailor these approaches to meet your presenting concerns and unique needs. When working with adolescents, I take a Family Systems approach to help the whole system develop effective responses to family circumstances. If you are bringing an adolescent to work with me, you can expect to be an integral part of the process.
What Led Me Here
Prior to becoming a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, I worked in education as a master-level teacher for nearly a decade. This experience continues to inform my approach to therapy, as I believe educating clients on the therapeutic process is an important part of success. My background has also given me insight into concerns such as school anxiety, teacher burnout, and parental stress, which I often address in my work.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy traveling with my wife, spending time with friends, and meeting the many demands of our rescue cat, who insists on eating promptly at 6 PM. I also enjoy reading, running, and being a Dungeons and Dragons Dungeon Master.
